OVERVIEW:

Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas is

the second largest cruise ship in the

world ( 1 ft shorter than its sister ship the

Harmony of the Seas).  It is part of the

Oasis-Class, which will consist of 4 ships

in 2018 ( Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the

Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and

Symphony of the Seas). Oasis-Class ships are unlike any other ships in the world. Its innovative design allowed open-air spaces in the middle of the ship on lower decks: The Broadway and the Central Park. The Allure of the Seas is incomparable in terms of the amount and variety of both restaurants and entertainment venues. Furthermore, it offers numerous sporting facilities on its Sports Deck and six (!) outdoor pools, each one with its very own purpose (Sports Pool, Beach Pool, Kids Area, ...).

However, with its over 2000 staterooms it can accommodate up to 6,296 passengers.  These crowds are clearly visible on embarkation day and at the buffet restaurants ...

Check out our Tips to avoid these crowds below.

TIPS & TRICKS:

TIP - BUFFET CROWDS

Check out alternatives for the Windjammer Buffet, such as the Solarium Bistro (Deck 16) or the Johnny Rockets (Deck 9) for breakfast. These are usually quieter and you can avoid the long lines...

CROWDS AT THE RESTAURANT

EXPERT TIP - MAIN DINING ROOMS:

When booking your cruise choose "my time", which allows you to eat in the main dining rooms whenever you feel like it and not at the same time everyday. About an hour (or two) before you go eating book a table at the restaurant and avoid the cue of all the other "my time dinners" (usual waiting time: 20 - 30 minutes)

MAIN DINING ROOMS

TIP - BOOKING SHOWS:

Before going on your cruise pre-plan your shows and book them on Royal Caribbean's cruise planner. You will be able to choose the specific date and time and you will not have to stand in line on the first day of your vacation. If you do not book the shows online, know that comedy shows (or shows with a smaller capacity) are fully booked relatively quickly.

Yes, the Allure has a park! The Central Park is one of the ship's 7 distinct "neighbourhoods" (the others are the Royal Promenade, the Boardwalk, the SPA, the Sports deck, the children area, and the Entertainment place)
